Baby X O! Sweater and Hat
If you downloaded the pattern before Sept. 25, 2013, the corrections below apply. A fully corrected version has been uploaded as of Sept. 25, 2013.
The written instructions have the stitches in the opposite order from the chart. The corrected rows are:
Row 62: K14, RT, LT, k8. Repeat from to last 6 sts, k6.
Row 63: K6, p2, k4, p3, k2, p3. Repeat from to last 12 sts, k4, p2, k6.
Row 64: K13, RT, k2, LT, k6. Repeat from to last 7 sts, k7.**
In Round 13 on the hat, the first part should read K3, not k4 (the first stitch is already worked with the end of round 12); k3 past the first st and then work the rest of the round.
Correction: In the written directions, cast on 30 for the swatch, not 24. Pattern has been corrected as of 9-6-13, 8 pm EST. This sweater is worked top down in one piece, starting with the collar. When the increases for the top and sleeve caps are done, the sleeve stitches are knitted off onto spare needles and set aside for working later. The only seams are the small holes where the sleeves are worked in the round after the body is done. Hat is worked in the round from the bottom up.
Button bands are worked as you go, and the twisted stitches are simple yet make a striking texture.
Any yarn and appropriate needles work for this pattern. Your gauge will determine size, as the stitch count is the same for every size: for larger sizes, use thicker yarn and bigger needles; for smaller sizes, use thinner yarn and smaller needles.
