I used Bernat Softee Chunky Super Bulky Clay (for the scarf part) and Limelight (for the head part).

Essentially each side of the scarf was one skein (108 yards each) but due to excessive ripping out and redoing I lost some yarn and had to dip into a third skein for the final two rows of the clay so 3 skeins should be considered. The hood (green) /ears used roughly a little over 2 skeins.

As it is a scarf, gauge isn’t really important.
