When I found this yarn, the name of the colorway, ‘Faded Valentine’, just screamed out for something with hearts, knit as an expression of love. Is there any greater love than that of a mother and her baby? Celebrate it with these beaded socks decorated with hearts for each of them. Or just make the adult size to give to someone you love. Or make just the baby socks with the leftovers from some other sock project. The ice cream colors are a sweet reminder of summer in the depths of winter, and your choice of beads can take the socks from subtly sparkly to bold and bright.
I prefer a short-row heel on hand-painted sock yarns, because it allows the patterning of the yarn to proceed almost uninterrupted down the front of the leg and over the instep, while providing a fun contrast in patterning over the heel.
