This Baby’s Breath Pattern makes wonderful filler for your crocheted bouquets and can be made with thread “flowers” or with small pearl beads.

Take your crocheted brooches & boutonnieres to the next level with an elegant spray of Baby’s Breath!

This comprehensive photo tutorial pattern (13 pages, 97 photos, 5.4MB) will show you how to make this graceful bouquet staple.

Also included is a condensed text-only excerpt of just the written instructions from the photo tutorial, 3 pages and no photos saves ink! The numbered steps correspond to the photos of the tutorial which you can view on your favorite device if you prefer not to print the full tutorial.

You will need a PDF reader such as Adobe Reader or PDF-XChange to view or print the files.

Materials:
DMC Cebelia crochet thread or other tightly wound thread & appropriately sized hook.

Recommended:
Size 10 thread & 1.75mm hook (best for bouquets made with yarn) OR
Size 20 thread & 1.5mm hook OR
Size 30 thread & 1.25mm hook

Tapestry needle (the smallest you can get the thread through, I use size 24 for size 10 thread)
Waterproof fabric glue (like Dritz 398 Unique Stitch Adhesive)

Suggested Materials:
Fabric dye, fabric paint, fabric markers or acrylic paint thinned with textile medium.
Fabric stiffener or white glue (like Elmer’s Glue-All Extra Strong Formula)
Small paint brush & needle nose tweezers

Optional Materials:
Stem wire
Florist tape
Small round beads

You need the following skills:
chain
slip stitch
controlling tension
accuracy & attention to detail

Additional stitches used are fully explained in the tutorial.

This pattern is appropriate for intermediate to experienced crocheters. A beginner who is up for the challenge of using thread can have success if they are willing to practice the stitches until they get consistent results.
