I was so excited when my best friend told me she was pregnant! I knew I wanted to make her a special baby blanket, but I had little time to knit. So I designed a simple pattern that looked fancy, and I could knit it in front of the TV.
I used a soft, natural yarn in beautiful shades of brown, with simple slipped stitches to make the design look more chunky and soft. I worked on the blanket every night after work, and it was finished just in time for the baby shower!
My friend loved the blanket and said it was the perfect gift for her new baby. I was so happy that I could make something special for her, and I knew that the blanket would be a cherished heirloom.

This pattern results in a blanket of 80 x 80 cm (31.5 x 31.5 inches). For a wider blanket, add a multiple of 12 stitches to the pattern. I recommend a larger border if you decide to make the blanket bigger to prevent curling edges.

12 stitches and 25 rows per 10 cm

Materials: 3 100g skeins of chunky yarn suitable for needle size US10/ 6mm in different colors.
