Back From the Dead
As with the good majority of my designs I have skulls and names related to skulls of some sort. This was an interesting name suggested by one of my wonderful testers.
Over the past months I had a full stop artist block because I was so burnt out from creating and putting out so many items for around six months which included over 150 doilies in a 3 month time frame (yes that is possible). Most don’t know that I am not just a crochet artist but multi medium artist. This includes working with bone and wood - carving and / or painting it, knife making, book binding, jewelry making, graphite artist, acrylic painter, sculptor, writer, and for a hobby I loom weave. So when I had a full artist block, It means FULL ARTIST BLOCK and stop!! When one of my testers suggested the name “Back From the Dead”, after showing her this piece, I ran with it. Mostly because it sounded alot better than the name I gave it which was “Whatever” since I lost hope, and fell in a pit of despair. It was going to be whatever it was good or bad. One can always frog and make it disappear.
Thankfully I am getting back in my normal grove and my first piece back is wonderful.
This is a nice large, 22inch-ish diameter doily pattern worked up in size 10 thread and a 1.65 -1.75 hook. It works up easy and quick with no tricks, weird stitches and stuff like that. Great for a newbie or an old hat.
