Back to Basic Beanie
The Back to Basic Beanie is a super easy knit and a really good choice for your very first knitted hat. The knitting pattern consists mostly of knit stitches, and the ribbing is a simple combination of knit and purl. This means you can concentrate on learning those things that might be new: knitting in the round on circular needles and double-pointed needles.
The pattern contains helpful links to video tutorials.
The hat is knitted in the round on a 40 cm circular needle and the top is knitted on double pointed needles, or with the magic-loop method if you prefer.
The Back to Basic Beanie - Rios version is designed for Malabrigo Rios yarn on US size 7 needles, but you may use another worsted weight yarn, as long as you can match the gauge.
