The mittens are worked in the round from the cuff, with a thumb gusset at the side; the gusset instructions are both written and charted. The mitten body is finished with a 3-needle bind off. The recommended yarn is a springy, 3-ply wool yarn with a relatively tight twist: soft and lofty yet durable.

In addition to needles and yarn, you will need three stitch markers, scrap yarn for holding the thumb stitches and a yarn needle for darning in ends.
