Bad Wolf Bay
There’s a well-known episode of Doctor Who in which Rose Tyler is forced to be separated from the Doctor forever sigh.
In this episode, she stands on beautiful, jagged rocks that border a smooth beach and the sea. I noticed, as I’m sure every knitter did, that Rose was wearing a gorgeous pair of knit fingerless gloves, but no scarf!
This scarf is both inspired by the stunning landscape of that scene – the jagged stones, smooth sand, and water - and also would have been perfect for Rose to wear, in her namesake color of course!
Make this scarf for yourself, and go on an adventure, or make it for the Rose Tyler in your life!
I created a scarf that would be effortless, comfortable, and would work well transitioning from Fall into Winter. To make this scarf both lightweight and warm, the lace is knit in a tube and then the ends joined together – you get floofy warmth without a whole lot of bulk.
___This scarf features an optional faux mobius twist that is put in after the entire scarf is knitted. You get the option of a lovely twist without having to work a twisted project.___
please note that the recommended yarn is a light worsted weight. Testers who used heavy worsted or Aran weight yarn found the scarf much thicker/heavier than anticipated.
This pattern has been tested for clarity and accuracy.
All testers reported being very pleased with the finished scarf using the following yarns:
- Lion Brand Wool Ease
- Ewe Need Color Shepard’s Worsted
- Knitpicks Comfy Sport
- Sheep(ish)
- Caron Simply Soft
The light pink sample scarf that is pictured in the pattern is the smallest size - 30”
