The Bag with Swallows is a bag for shopping or for carrying your needlework.

Using the recommended type of yarn and the hook size each of the parts measures:

Height (without handles): 37 cm.
Width, front and back: 29 cm.
Width, sides: 10 cm.
Bottom: 10 x 29 cm.

Technique
The bag is made in interlocking crochet, a technique that consists of two crochet parts in different colors which are interlinked and thereby they form a relief picture.

According to the technique, the parts are also measured in windows:

Front/back: 23 x 28 windows
Sides: 8 x 28 windows
Bottom: 8 x 23 windows

Additional needs
Besides yarn you need this to finish the project:

• Handles, 70 cm. (2 pcs)
• Buttons to fix the handles nicely, 17 mm (4 pcs)
• Lining to stiffen the bag: 100x40 cm. I recommend felt (3 mm) in BC or RC color. I sewed the lining on a sewing machine.

Skill level

If you are familiar with interlocking crochet, you can make this bag. If you are not, you need some basic crochet skills and a bit of patience to learn the technique. The pattern includes a detailed technique class with photos and video tutorials for you who wants to learn it - and once you do it is actually just a whole lot of double crochets!

There is an additional suggestion to combine interlocking crochet and felting. A new model C has been added to the project. The red/orange bag is made in wool and felted.
