THE INSPIRATION
Nothing is more satisfying than knitting something special for yourself, especially if it’s made in a classic style that you will reach for again and again! The Bailey Beanie is one of those patterns. It has a slightly slouchy fit that looks great on everyone, and the simple style will match every outfit in your closet.
THE CONSTRUCTION
Knit from the bottom up and in the round, this pattern uses a variety of different knitting techniques to help you master the basics. Not only does the pattern contain written instructions, it also includes a detailed photo tutorial to help you along the way, making perfect for those who are new to knitting in the round using the magic loop method. You will need to know how to cast on, knit and purl, and K2tog. It’s all quite simple! I recommend this easy pattern for beginner knitters.
THE YARN
This pattern was designed using Plymouth Yarns Baby Alpaca Grande in “Dark Grey.” I absolutely loved working with this yarn as it is incredibly soft and on the heavier side of bulky weight. It is 2-ply, so it’s light and lofty as well. Another great yarn for this pattern would be The Fibre Company Tundra, available online from Stars Hollow Yarns, my local yarn shop.
