This balaclava pattern will help you to make a hat exactly like the pictured one! The pattern is for adult s/m and adult l/xl sizes.

This pattern’s gauge is 19 stitches in 4inches (10cm) over stockinette stitch. Row gauge is not important in this pattern. Please check your yarn label for needle size suggestion and make a gauge swatch!

You will need yarn, knitting needles, a tapestry needle or crochet hook to weave in the yarn ends and also the same tapestry needle to graft stitches at the back of the hat. For most, 4.5mm -5mm / US7-8 work best when using Worsted yarns – but that will vary from knitter to knitter, from yarn to yarn. Please check the recommended needle size on your yarn label and make your gauge sample to make sure you end up making a hat that really fits!
You will need up to 150 grams of yarn for s/m size and up to 170 grams of yarn for l/xl size.
Since the hat part of this is knit flat, you can use any knitting needles you like. I prefer using ether long circulars, or long straight “afghan” knitting needles. The neck part is knit in the round – so, you will need either double pointed needles or a circular needle to make a magic loop.

The balaclava is stretchy; it will fit most of those who are in their according size. The ribbing pattern makes sure it stretches to fit and recovers its shape after being worn.
Size: Adult s/m; Head circumference: Up to 22.5 inches/57cm.
Size: Adult l/xl; Head circumference: Up to 24.5 inches/62cm
