Balaclava “Tiye” is a cute and a warm balaclava that is knitted holding 3 threads of yarn together making it for a pretty quick knit. It is decorated with a tassel and has some symbolism to it:
In the Middle East, tassels were worn as talismans, especially on headwear. It was said that having a tassel on the hood will protect a child from ill spirits.

“Tiye” is knitted top down starting from the double folded face ribband, and then continued knitting back and forth to form the hood. Then stitches are picked up around the neck edge and finally the neck warmer is knitted using raglan method.
