Bali Reflections Placemats
About the project
The Bali Reflections Placemats includes 8 lovely designs inspired by Bali life, nature, and culture.
The placemats are made in interlocking crochet, a technique that consists of two crochet parts in different colors which are interlinked and thereby they form a relief picture.
the patterns are for right-handed crocheters. If you are interested in the patterns for left-handed cocheters please see below.
Dimensions
The placemats measures approx 37 x 32 cm (34 x 45 windows), depending on the yarn (see below) and hook size.
Yarn
Recommended yarn is cotton 8/4.
The placemats are shown in three yarns and colors:
Green (4 green colors) and white
50 g / 160 m (total 3520 m)
Black and white
50 g / 170 m (total 2720 m)
Purple and white
50 g / 120 m (total 2760 m)
Skill level: Advanced
You need some basic crochet skills to become familiar with the technique. Diagonals adds some complexity to the basics in interlocking crochet.
Learn the technique.
If the technique is new to you or you need to refresh it, I recommend that you start by making a little 12x12 window training pattern. This will take you through all stitches and prepare you for the placemat patterns. The training pattern and a step by step guide is included.
Download includes:
-> 8 placemat designs/patterns (US terminology)
-> Information about yarn and hook size
-> Training pattern with technical explanation and a step by step guide (both US and DK) with lots of pictures and 11 YouTube Tutorials in English (and a technique introduction video in Danish).
-> A document with an overview of 11 YouTube Tutorials (easy way to find help)
-> Link to Facebook Group for help and support (same as mentioned above).
Left hand
I have a draft version of the patterns for left-handed crochet. The draft version is tested by left-handed crocheters. If you are interested in the patterns for left-handed - please write to me. The training pattern is for right hand only.
