Cooler weather will be here before we know it! As a knitter, I start to get really excited about the change in weather so I can get started on Christmas gifts and just any sort of warm snuggly knitted items for myself and for family and friends.

This is my very first knitted pattern. While working on the construction of this hat, my daughter thought the cables looked like whale tales, so the name “Ballena” was born (it means whale in Spanish). This would be a great pattern for a beginner to try out cabling. Add a pompom, make the brim larger or modify it to your liking!
