Ballerina Gnome
The Gnomes I designed have been complaining that there are no females in their group. They were absolutely correct, so here is my newest addition to the clan: Ballerina Gnome. My sister says she looks like a Fiona (not sure why). She’s sweet and talented and keeps her beautiful brunette hair in a tidy, beribboned bun atop her gnomey head. She has a tutu of fabulous proportions and wears pink ballet slippers with satin ribbon. Her knitted hair is wreathed with a garland of flowers. And she wears a bit of blush on her cheeks.
There are lots of photos in the pattern to guide you in knitting your own Ballerina Gnome for yourself or any special person who would enjoy her company.
I used dk weight yarn (a good way to use up stash) and size US4/3.5mm double-pointed knitting needles. The body/head is worked in the round. Yay, no seams there. The only sewing is the little seams on the shoes (knitted flat), attaching the arms and legs, bun and tutu.
She will make a sweet, dramatic addition to your own band of gnomes!
