…………………………………………………………………………
My daughter recently began ballet classes and she requested little leg warmers for her to wear. I made them as I went and decided to write it down and create a pattern so others can enjoy them. They are worked top-down from lower thigh to ankle. There is an optional heel hole so that they can cover the ballet slippers or pointe shoes. Grab your favorite cotton, wool or acrylic yarn and you can have these done in a few hours.
There will be two documents to download. The first is the actual ‘recipe’ where I explain in detail how to calculate to make custom-size leg warmers specific to your ballerina’s measurements. OR if you choose to forgo the math you can use the pattern with instructions ranging from 1-10 yrs old.

PATTERN INFO
Sizing
1-2 yr (3-4 / 5-6 / 7-8 / 9-10)
Yarn
1 ball of worsted weight acrylic yarn*
The yarn in pictures is Big Twist Value in the color “blush pink.”
Acrylic yarn doesn’t have the best memory, it may loosen up and fall down over time. The best yarn to use would be a 100% cotton yarn because it will grip the tights and stay put, or even a wool blend yarn with lots of memory. This was the yarn my daughter picked out so I went with it.
