My Balloons Pillow is one of my book cover inspired pillows. It is inspired by the cover of my favorite childhood book: Wendy Mass’ 11 Birthdays. The front and back side of the pillow are composed of rows of double crochet stitches. The intricate color changes on the front side form the balloons. There are photos included in the pattern to explain how to crochet with multiple balls of yarn at once. Additionally, there is a chart included to serve as an extra tool for keeping track of the color changes.
Note: I recently updated the pdf for this pattern. The updated pdf includes stitch abbreviations as well as additional information about gauge and size. It explains how to add buttons to the pillow, so the pillow case can be taken on and off of the pillow insert. It also includes a color chart for the front side of the pillow!
