If you use Fingering weight yarn & 3.25mm or less knitting needles, you get a weeny ball.
DK yarn & 4mm needles will get you a bigger size.
Aran yarn with 4.5mm, & Extra Chunky with 10mm will get you bigger sizes.
The Pattern instructions for Chunky yarn using 5mm are the same to be followed with different thickness yarn & the appropriate size mm knitting needles.
