Balthazar the realistic cat
With this very detailed pattern, you can make a super-realistic and playful crochet cat / kitten amigurumi. This .pdf crochet pattern is written in standard American crochet terms.
Size
If you use the recommended yarn, your kitty will be 5.1 inch /13 cm high.
Materials
For this crochet cat you’ll need worsted weight yarn and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. You’ll need three colours of yarn: Oatmeal 0085, sheep black 0052 and white 0051 (one skein of each is more than enough). For the nose you can use any colour and yarn you like. For the eyes I’ve used 10 mm animal eyes. You will also need fibrefill and pellets for a bit of extra weight in the body (I use Hama beads). A pipe-cleaner to make the tail bendable is optional.
The crochet pattern contains
An intro with useful info. List of materials, tools and accessories needed. Brand and colour numbers of the needed yarn. A clear and colour coded description of how to crochet and assemble the animal, with instruction images next to the text and example pictures at the bottom to help you get everything right. All my patterns are text edited for correct English and have been tested by experienced crocheters before publishing.
Yarn
Istex Lett lopi. I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result.
Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.
