The Alaskan Iditarod Race began as an emergency run to deliver serum to Nome. Led by the brave sled dog Balto, the serum arrived in time. The Race commemorates this original event. It is held every year in March. This Headband features sled dogs running across a field of Alaskan winter colors, in memory of Balto. The hand painted yarn comes from the Alaskan Yarn Company and was inspired by a sunny winter day. Each skein is individually dyed by hand for you! It is knitted using circular needles and there is enough yardage to make two headbands or a small pair of fingerless mitts (depending on your gauge and knitting style.)

Order your kit today to make sure you are ready for the race!!

The Kit is available on Squareup.com and includes one skein of the handpainted “Iknitarod 2015” color and one skein of contrast color in your choice of grey, charcoal or brown. The pattern will be delivered to you via email on March 5th.
