This is a crochet pattern for the Banana Bag. It is a medium sized bag that can be worn crossbody. It fits way more than meets the eye! The bag is one size and is made up of a body and a strap. The strap is a tube of single crochets, which makes it stretch out less while wearing it. Afterwards the zipper needs to be installed by handsewing it in. The pattern is suitable for beginner crocheters.

Materials needed

  • 500 metres of cotton yarn that fits the gauge
  • A 5mm crochet needle
  • A 30cm zipper
  • Scissors
  • A sewing needle for sewing in the zipper
  • A tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Tips on using secondhand yarn
In the example, three strands are held. Two strands are super fine weight and one strand is fine weight. If you wish to hold multiple strands too, you need 500 metres per yarn type.
