Band Practice
Band Practice is a headband that is almost a hat. It is a versatile piece that can be worn covering your ears and most of your head or pulled down around neck as a cowl. (Make it into a hat with the bonus instructions included in this pattern.) It is worked in the round in a simple rib pattern except for a cable within an oval turtle cable motif at the front. This is a great little holiday gift that knits up quickly and doesn’t take a lot of yarn to make. You’ll need a size 8 (5 mm) circular and 64 yards of worsted weight yarn for a headband that is 4.25” wide and easily stretches to 23” around. A little less yarn for a narrower headband. Can also be knit with a size 7 (4.5 mm) circular for a slightly smaller headband. Make it a hat with about 109 yards of yarn and some dpns or a longer circular for magic loop to finish the hat top. The 3 page pattern has written row instructions.
