Banded
I love combining colors, but I’m not always in the mood to do colorwork or regular striping. The Banded sweater gives the striping a little twist: The main color and contrasting color are broken up by darker stripes, giving the option to work with 3 different colors. Choose a neutral color for those narrower stripes, or break it all up by using another pop of color. I’m wishing for a version with bright red stripes!
Banded is worked top down, using the contiguous sleeve method for shaping the shoulders and upper body. The upper body is worked flat with German short rows to shape the scooped neckline, then joined in the round. The body and sleeves are each worked in the round after dividing.
Note that the sleeve & body lengths in the pattern are fit for women’s sizes – if you are making this for a man, usually the body & sleeves need to be a little longer. Try it on to see what works for you!
