Quick and easy, the sweater is worked from the neck down in one piece. More challenging due to the openwork stitch, the hood is knit from the front edge to the centre back and finished with a three-needle bind-off and then sewn to the sweater body.

The belt has two D-rings sewn to one end, and the belt loops are worked seperately then sewn to the sweater body.

The front neckline has extra width that can be stretched out during blocking to create additional drape for more of a cowlneck effect.

Two small buttons are sewn to the inside of the collar at the raglan seams, and the hood may be worn with the front edges hanging free (2nd photo), buttoned to their own side (1st photo), or crossed and buttoned to create more of a cowl effect (3rd photo).

This issue of Knitscene includes an article I wrote about customizing sleeve shaping. Please consider tweaking the sleeve fit on this sweater, to get something perfectly shaped for your arms!
