Bandit
Bandit features a ribbed band that is shaped with short rows to give the hat a delightful slant!
New to short rows? The instructions will guide you through, step by step, and the wraps are neatly hidden within the ribs.
Familiar with short rows? Go slow and follow the steps at first, as the figure-8 style of wrap in this pattern is unusual… when you’re finished, you’ll see how well it minimizes stress on the adjacent stitches and blends into the ribbing pattern!
If your head is on the smaller-than-average size, consider going down to 4.5mm needles for a snugger fit. There is a section of straight knitting after the brim that can be adjusted for more or less length as needed! The pattern as written fits both Francesca (of Three Bags Full) and I well - she’s petite, and it is just slightly loose on her head, and I’m.. not .. :) and it isn’t tight but just perfectly closefitting!
