A beginner friendly asymmetric shawl design using basic stitches, and an easy to memorize repeat pattern. Pick your favourite yarn in fingering weight/4 ply or light worsted/DK for this flexible pattern, and create your own cosy shawl with a beautiful drape. Add a picot edging for the finishing touch!

Shawl starts at one end. Working in rows,increasing on one side only, until desired size is reached.
Gauge is not important. To achieve a light drape tension, I suggest you use a hook one size larger than recommended for the yarn you have chosen. Make a swatch of the first 8 rows to test your hook size.
Shawl pictured used the same yarn for the border but a contrast yarn would look beautiful.
