The inspiration for this blanket comes from the glazed screen wall in front of the Qianqing Palace Gate within the Forbidden City. Qianqing Gate is the main entrance to the Inner Court of the Forbidden City and was the place where the emperor held court during the Qing Dynasty. We have distilled the Baoxiang Flower elements and their distribution patterns from this historic site.

In terms of color, we’ve chosen a classic red paired with a dignified blue, lending an air of classical elegance and nobility. The central motif and four corner designs are arranged in a tight cluster, creating a visually balanced effect of density and sparseness. As a whole, the blanket exudes a sense of refined grandeur and magnificence.

The crocheting guidance will guide you step by step through completing this project, and we hope that during the process, you discover even more joy in the colors and stitching techniques used.
