This overlay crochet mini mandala is the sister motif to Ruby’s Rue.
I used Scheepjes Softfun and Softfun Denim with a 4mm hook, Scheepjes Cotton8 and Sunkissed with a 3mm hook and also Scheepjes Maxi with a 1.75mm hook.
The patterns were inspired by a challenge run by Edie Eckman some time ago. I’d intended to work up a number of different overlay designs into a cushion cover. Somebody once told me my brain was like a butterfly flitting about. Now that I’m off thinking about something else I eventually admitted that this really wasn’t going to happen and I thought I’d share it instead!
I’m a big fan of overlay crochet and of course LillaBjorn so you can imagine how thrilled I was when I actually managed to work up my own designs. They just seemed to evolve in my hands.
