This is a cape pattern with the increases hidden in the rays streaming outward from the 3/4 square neckline. It can be worked in any yarn using a needle that gives you fabric that you like.

It looks great in a long color repeat yarn - you can see the waves distinctly. In a variegated yarn - the waves are less distinct and the vertical rays appear to be more visible.
