Barbra Stripesand
I thought of the name, and loved it, so had to design a sock that suited it.
This pattern combines horizontal stripes with an alternating checkerboard of ribbing and stockinette, so the sock will gently hug your foot throughout.
It works well when combining a solid colour with a contrasting variegated or gradient colourway. So if you’re wondering “what do I do with my variegated yarn,” here’s one solution!
Because of the 12 stitch repeat, size options are limited. Adventurous experienced knitters may be able to sort out a happy compromise, but beginner knitters may prefer to try this only if 48, 60, or 72 stitches is close to their go-to sock stitch count.
It’s knit in the round, but the heel flap is knit flat, so I’ve included both those attributes. Don’t want to mislead one way or the other!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any issues or questions. I’ll try to be responsive (unless I’m on vacation).
