Using this pattern, you will be able to make a classic crochet raffia bag. This raffia bag will be your new go-to accessory for running errands or carrying home your purchases. It has a simple design and is made with easy crochet stitches so it is a perfect project for the beginners.

The bag is crocheted in single crochets from the bottom in the round. The bottom is flat and it is worked as a growing circle in the round, then the sides of the bag are worked in the round in a single crochet pattern. At the end, leather straps are added.

ONE SIZE

MEASUREMENTS:

• diameter - 29 cm [11’’]
• circumference - 92 cm [36’’]
• height (straps excl.) - 38 cm [15’’]

GAUGE:
14 sts x 10 rounds = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4] in single crochet on 4 mm [US G] hook.
The bag is made in the round so it is recommended that the swatch is also made in the round. Swatch made flat may have a different number of stitches.

CROCHET HOOK: 
4 mm [US G] crochet hook.

YARN:
1 ball of Paper PopYarn (100% paper, 250 g / 360 m [394 yds]) or other raffia yarn of similar weight.

NOTIONS: 
Stitch marker, darning needle, scissors, 2 leather straps (I was using Leather Handle Kit - Short from Cocoknits).
