Barchan
There is something quite romantic and mesmerising about sand dunes and the fact that some can move is pretty amazing. In fact, that is exactly what Barchan sand dunes do so it seemed appropriate that I should name the latest design in my Dune Collection after that particular dune formation.
Because this pattern has a lovely sense of motion which is created by the graduating sections of the collection’s signature Sand Cables. This soft, meandering stitch pattern is full of life and the increase in cable size seems to accentuate the feeling of drift across the scarf design.
It’s a large and extremely elegant DK scarf that is relaxing and fun to knit. It’s ideal for adventurous beginners, but there is enough in this pattern to keep the more seasoned knitter engaged. And as well as being a joy to knit, it’s also easy and versatile to style. Simply pop it on with jeans when you’re out shopping or going out for lunch, but equally it can be worn more formally when you’re going somewhere special. And why not add a brooch to really dress it up? But however you choose to wear Barchan, this gorgeously warm and cosy scarf is the perfect start to your autumn/winter wardrobe preparations.
And whether you knit this for yourself or for someone else, I hope you enjoy this pattern as much as I do.
Happy Knitting!
