Barlow Road Mitts
Hanks in the Hood was originally located in Rhododendron, OR. I drew my inspiration from her location near the Barlow Road and the lovely conifer forests that cover the landscape. The Barlow Road Mitts are named for the last portion of the Oregon trail. This winding road brought settlers over Mt Hood and into the Willamette Valley. The road still exists in places and visitors can hike in the wheel ruts left by pioneer wagons. The mitts are knit from a rich pine colored yarn, aptly named “I Love Living in the Woods.” A winding road complete with wheel ruts runs up the back of each hand.
