Knit and purl stitches are artfully combined and balanced in this relaxed version of a guernsey pullover.

Designed by Norah Gaughan for Classic Elite in 1991, this classic drop shoulder pullover was originally knit in Tapestry wool/alpaca/mohair. We have altered the pattern to be worked in the round, instead of worked in pieces and seamed as the original. The fit of the sleeve is slightly slimmer in this new version, for a more modern silhouette.

Originally knit in Tapestry and published in Knitting the New Classics: "This Guernsey-style sweater looks equally attractive on men and women. The rather complicated diamond pattern is formed using seed stitch. Unlike some Guernsey stitches, each side of the fabric is different, and complete concentration is necessary when knitting the yoke section. The rolled bottom edge completes the casual style of the sweater."
