This item can be made with 4 or 8 ply cotton, colour of choice. The Barrette needs to be purchased, It may be fancy or plain. A small amount of hat elastic is needed to crochet the snood/net to. Included with the written instructions are crochet graphs showing stitch placements and illustrations showing how to attach the finished crochet Snood/Net to the Barrette.
