Barrier Island Scarf
The scarf is worked in two colors in a single tuck stitch pattern in rows. The pattern has written instructions and links to in depth tutorials for the knitter who is not familiar with the special stitches used. Prior experience with Brioche or Tuck Stitches is an advantage but not absolutely necessary. The two colors are not worked at the same time - they are worked separately.
Only one size is given in the pattern: 60” long x 10” wide.
If you want the scarf longer simply keep knitting until the desired length. If you want it wider, add multiples of 6 sts when casting on, then follow the pattern.
I used Kelbourne Woolen’s Andorra yarn. It is soft and gorgeous and a joy to work with. The scarf is worked on US 5 needles / 3.75 mm
To work the 60” x 10” scarf you need 75 g / 228 yards of each color
Gauge: 24 sts and 35 rows = 4” / 10 cm
