I’ve always loved the softness and cosiness of garter stitch baby blankets. Another effect I love is patchwork, but seams can be a little irritating on soft baby skin, so I decided to design a seamless ‘patchwork-like’ blanket using garter stitch for softness and a little lace to add definition and interest to the pattern.

The blanket is knitted in aran weight yarn and the yarn i used was Rico Kids Classic, which is soft, machine-washable at 30 degrees and has good stitch definition.

The blanket pictured was made for use with a car seat or carrycot, but the size is very easy to adjust both length and width.
