This pattern is easily modifiable to increase or decrease circumference, though it is recommended that the size of the opening for the hat brim not be altered.

Any worsted weight wool yarn or wool blend yarn will work. 100% Acrylic will be too flimsy after the first wash and will stretch out hopelessly.
