Dimensions:
Fits most adults with the adjustable straps in the back. This pattern uses the
crocheted Knit Stitch to give it a smooth, knitted like appearance. This pattern also
uses a second ball of yarn, crocheted inside of the stitches, to make the fabric stiffer,
without using a form to keep its shape.
Materials:
Size H Crochet Hook (5.0MM) for the main hat.
Size F Crochet Hook (3.75MM) for the brim.
Two balls of 4ply Medium Knitting Yarn, about 350 yds total
8 Stitch Markers (7 markers for the Cap and 2 for the Visor). You can use pieces of
contrasting yarn if you don’t have stitch markers. It is suggested that you use a
different color for the 1st Stitch Marker, to help keep track of where your are in your
work.
1 Stitch Holder (you can use a paper clip or a tiny clothespin if you don’t have a stitch
holder). I find that the tiny, pointed, sewing clips work perfect for both stitch markers
and stitch holders.
3/4in “No Sew Velcro Strips” for fabric, to use for attaching the Adjustable Bans to
each other.
A handful of small clips (something like a tiny clothespins) used to hold the Secondary
Yarn in place while you are crocheting overtop the yarn (optional).
