BASELAYER
BASELAYER is a top down henley-neck raglan jumper, with built in double-knit mitts and finished with a curved shirtwaist hem. The yoke fit is refined by semi-customisable compound raglan options. The welted raglans and faux-seam side welts offer excellent stability without seaming, and the curved hem is fashioned using short rows. There are options included for short cuffs (and no thumb opening), broad shoulder, large bust small back, and curve fits as well as even front and back (classic raglan) fit. These options occur after the front of the neck shaping is finished, and are explained further on in the pattern.
Notable techniques used in this pattern are compound raglan increases, german short rows both plain and in pattern, Judy’s Magic Cast On used as a provisional cast on, double knitting, double knit button holes, sewn bind off/grafting, and colourwork slip stitch (if doing the two colour version). This pattern is mostly written but refers to a small chart to illustrate the motif, therefore the knitter should know how to read from charts. The knitter should also know how to incorporate increased stitches into pattern. There are also a selection of basic increases and decreases used.
