This is a pattern for simple Stockinette Stitch ankle socks, worked from the top down. The socks make a great practice pattern for those looking to start with socks, or practice more advanced techniques with double pointed needles.

You will need approximately 400-437 yards of fingering/sock weight yarn (the entire skein will likely not be used, as was the case when I created these). Additionally you will need the following items

  • tapestry needle
  • 1 (or more) stitch markers
  • sock blocker (optional, if you do not like blocking socks)

The foot length for the socks is adjustable.

There is also a free version of the sock pattern on my website.
