This baby beanie pattern is about as simple as you can get! Knit flat and then seamed, it is the perfect project for a beginner branching out from garter scarves; to make this, you only need to know how to knit and decrease. No purling necessary. A pompom is the perfect topper, but not necessary!

This pattern fits a large variety of sizes because of the stretchy nature of garter stitch. It could fit as small as newborn, and as large as 18 months. In the early months, it will fit with positive ease, and in the later months it will fit with negative ease.
