Neither fussy nor boring, the “basic beanie” is perfect for anyone who wants a simply cozy cap. The pattern produces fabulous results with a surprisingly straightforward combination of stitches. Knitting through the back loop causes the stitches to swirl around the hat, giving the k3,p2 ribbing some added interest.
- Finished Size: 22.5” circumference at brim, 11.5” from brim to crown
- Gauge: 4 stitches / inch in stockinette stitch
- Notions: 1 stitch marker Needle
- Needles: US 10 / 6 mm 40cm circular needles (if using magic loop) or double pointed needles
- Techniques: magic loop, long tail cast on, german twisted cast on, purl, ktbl, k2tog, p2tog
