There is nothing better than a pair of hand knit wool socks to keep little feet warm in winter; this sock pattern is the perfect introduction to making your own socks!

The Basic Children’s Socks are knit ‘seamless’ in the round from the top down. Starting with a 1x1 cuff at the top of the sock, the leg is then knit in simple stocking stitch until the required length is reached. The heel is then created using the ‘heel flap and gusset’ method (full step-by-step instructions included in the pattern) and then the foot is continued in stocking stitch until the right length is reached, before adding the toe. Just make sure you refer to the component descriptions if you wish to alter the length of your sock! Available in ALL of the sizes, please see the Size Guide for intended fit instructions and take a look at the Basic Adult’s Socks pattern too!
