A very basic, beginner-friendly crochet hair accessory that can be worn with any outfit and for any
hairstyle. It’s worked flat in short rows of single crochet. Then, the ends are tied together and sewn with
a tapestry needle to form the knot. Step by step photos and video tutorial links are included for how to
tie the knot and crochet smooth, even edges.

MATERIALS
• 1 skein of Lion Brand Touch of Alpaca or
207yds/190meters of medium worsted
category 4 yarn
• Size US F/3.75mm crochet hook
• Removable stitch marker (optional)
• Tapestry needle (for sewing the knot)

FINISHED SIZE
Length: 25” / Width: 1.75” (approx. when flat
before tying the knot)
GAUGE
5 sts x 6 rows = 1”in single crochet

Headband is worked flat in repeating rows of single crochet. Chain counts as the first stitch. Starting in
row 2, single crochet into first stitch. Follow the photo tutorial in the pattern, and/or watch the video tutorial for steps on crocheting smooth, even edges. Headband measures approximately 25”
long when flat. To make longer or shorter, increase or decrease the number of rows as desired. Use a tapestry
