This is a pattern for basic mittens on magic loop using DK yarn.
You can easily make the hand part wider by adding 2 - 3 stitches to each needle after you’ve put the thumb stitches onto waste yarn. Just remember to add these extra stitches in when doing the decrease shaping at the top.

Have fun with different rib stitches or a simple cable up the back of the hand.
