This pattern is for anyone who’s jealous of how easily other people knit ribbed beanies. I could never find a crocheted version that I liked, so I made my own instead.

The design is actually fairly easy as the only stitches required are double crochet, front post crochet and back post crochet. If you are not familiar with the latter stitches, more in-depth tutorials should be available online.

As written, this beanie fits the average adult head and will take just over 1 skein of Heartland yarn. However, you can increase or decrease the size as needed by altering your hook size or adjusting the starting number of stitches to reach the desired size. Every additional stitch at the beginning will add 8 to your total.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
