This is no earth-shattering pattern, but I hope it will help fellow moms (and those of you who collect these dolls yourself). If you want something more than a basic sweater, you can work this in stripes, add a chart, whatever. It’s a basic pattern that can go a lot of different ways.

For your reference, this was designed for dolls that are 15” tall with a 13” chest. They are slightly shorter and chunkier than the 18” dolls on the market. However, this sweater should fit most 18” dolls.

Update: I’ve updated the link, since my blog address has changed.

Also, for those who have wondered about the extra armhole stitches: They are not necessary. I was a relatively new knitter when I designed this, and most of the sweater patterns I had had knit up to this point had closed the underarm hole with extra stitches. Feel free to eliminate them and simply sew up the small underarm hole if you’d like a slimmer fit under the arms.
