A soap sack is great for holding handmade soaps for a special gift. This basic design is easily changed to make an extra special gift for friends and family. If you prefer to use liquid soap, the same design can be adapted for a sachet or to be used to hold bath tea. When using as a sachet, you may need to include an inner bag so that your herbs do not escape. The same design can, of course, be used to make a drawstring bag for carrying treasures or a gift bag for presents. Let your imagination soar.

Techniques used: crochet cast on and bind off, drawstring cast on, gather bind off, eyelet row

A 20 peg round loom is used for the pattern as written, but it can easily be adapted to other looms. The amount of yarn needed depends on the size of your sack. Less than 1/3 of a skein will be required for a standard sack.
